Old Sport

As it originally appeared in the May 1943 Issue of "Sports Afield"

The caring side of Bob is revealed through his feelings for his dog, Old Sport. Bob describes him as "the most kind and gentle friend a plain man ever had", but the loving language used when talking about his hunting companion is far from plain. He creates a moving portrait, written in gentle and even poetic terms. Quite a departure from Bob's other articles; this shows his deep affection for Old Sport in a genuine and poignant way.
