The Coon's Mexican Cousin

As it originally appeared in the April 1942 Issue of "Outdoor Life"

Join Bob, Manuel, and John in the spectacular Mexican Sierras Negras as they pursue the most unusual Chulu, or Mexican Coati. We find out about this animal, rumored to be half monkey and half raccoon, with a snout that curls back like an elephant trunk and fangs that are capable of killing a dog. Bob sets the rumors straight about this species, and takes us along on his dramatic Chulu hunt in the dangerous ridges and canyons of this remote area of Mexico.
