Have You a Stepchild in the Cockpit As it originally appeared in the January 1952 Issue of "Flying" The poor, neglected, magnetic compass. In this article, specifically written for an audience of aviators, it is Bob's assertion that while the use of radio in navigation is significant, it is important not to let it replace the use of the magnetic compass completely. The majority of the article is centered on fact and well thought out reasoning, but he fortifies this idea effectively by personalizing the instrument. Bob has the ability to actually make you almost feel sorry for an inanimate object - a great way of getting his point across. |
