While unfortunately incomplete, what we do have of this story paints a brilliant portrait of one of Bob’s encounters in Quito. The rendering of the village and the subsequent picnic outside the city is filled with picturesque images, and lovely descriptions of Bob’s journey and destination. It is a shame we cannot see everything that happens, but the words we do have are worth reading, if not for the unfinished plot, then for the beautiful scene we are allowed to see through Bob’s voice.
